Hello, I’m a writer, director, and editor living in Los Angeles.

Derrick earned a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Media from American University in Washington, D.C, where he was awarded a Kodak Student Film grant.  He launched his professional career as a freelance editor in New York City working on documentaries and commercials.

During the era of burgeoning independent Brooklyn music, Derrick began directing music videos for artists, including Ninjasonik, The Death Set, and Maluca. His creative vision naturally translated in to the development of digital and broadcast content for internationally recognized brands such as Adidas, Land Rover & Intel.

His short film Prospect (2013) played at over a dozen festivals and was licensed for cable television. The documentary short Amazing Journey premiered at the Virginia Film Festival (2015). Derrick’s debut feature film Pink Opaque is currently in post-production.
